My little urban patch: week 4

14th August 2020 | Moira Geddes

Growing your own vegetables in an edible garden can certainly contribute to lowering your environmental footprint. More importantly, gardening can also help to improve your physical and mental health – something we could all use right now in these COVID-19 times.

I’ve already gained a great deal of pleasure from my little urban patch. Along with the enjoyment of watching the progress of the seedlings I planted, I also know that I’m growing nutrient-dense food for my family that offers a whole range of health benefits.

In this week’s video, I check in on the winter vegie crops I planted four weeks ago to see how they’re coming along. While the caterpillars that were munching on my artichokes have thankfully moved on, I find another unwelcome guest that needs to be taken care of.
