Latest product news: Capilano Choc Honey Spread

Capilano Choc Honey Spread

Capilano has launched a new chocolate spread, made from just two ingredients – pure Australian honey and sustainably-sourced cocoa. Unlike other choc spreads, Choc Honey is nut-free and contains no preservatives, no added sugar and no baddies like palm oil.

The new product may come as sweet relief to many families, with research commissioned by Capilano revealing that more than a third of parents “dread” making school lunches.

“The research shows that many parents struggle to find lunchbox items that are tasty, natural, nut-free and travel well,” says Ryan d’Almeida, CEO of Hive + Wellness, the company behind the Capilano brand. “Close to one-third of parents say their kids’ packed sandwiches often return uneaten. That’s a lot of wasted time and energy, while the kids themselves may then be learning on an empty stomach.”

Because the product contains no nuts, it also meets school nut-free policies. As well as going great on a sandwich, Choc Honey can be used in milkshakes and smoothies, or as icing on baked goods. Or hey, just eat it straight out of the jar with a spoon.

Capilano Choc Honey will be rolling out in Woolworths supermarkets in the coming weeks.
