A sweet chance to create your own KitKat

Chocolate-loving Sydneysiders, you are in for a treat. The new Sydney KitKat Chocolatory will be opening its doors to the public next month, offering some whimsically toothsome experiences that are reminiscent of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.  

This is the second “chocolatory” to open in Australia; the first opened in Melbourne in 2016. There are also others in Japan, Malaysia, the UK, Canada and Brazil. The new store will build on the success of the Melbourne boutique, offering additional KitKat inspirations.

At the heart of the Chocolatory, “Create Your Break” gives visitors the chance to design their own eight-finger KitKat to be created in the boutique. Create Your Break offers up to 30,000 possible combinations. There’s a choice of premium chocolates and an array of gourmet ingredients as well as custom package designs. Guests can either stay and watch chocolatiers create their bar, or return later to collect it.

At the Tasting Table, you can explore a carefully crafted selection of plated KitKat desserts inspired by the latest trends in chocolate. Unique to the Sydney boutique, reservations for up to 10 guests for 90-minute seatings are available through OpenTable.

Toot, toot – all aboard!

You can also taste new creations specially crafted for the Chocolate Train. Guests can choose KitKat selections with fillings such as yuzu ganache, peanut butter and raspberry and wasabi crème as they pass by on the train.

For those who want a variety of flavours, the boutique also offers an exclusive “Mix Your Break” range. You can choose from 12 individually wrapped creations, such as Cotton Candy, Guava, Churros, Sake and Matcha. You can also purchase unique products to take home. Available online and from the Chocolatory, these include:

1. KitKat Chocolatory Creations: classic KitKat flavours with a dash of creativity. The range includes Ruby, Dark, Marble, Reimagined Brownie, Dark Hazelnut and Orange Almond.

2. Special Editions: crisp, batch-baked wafers smothered in rich chocolate and filled with premium ingredients. The collection reimagines favourites from Japan, Brazil and Australia, such as a reimagined Aussie lamington.

3. KitKat Chocolatory Sublime: direct from the Japanese Chocolatory, this range gives you a taste of Japan with exotic fruits, rare volcanic chocolate and matcha.
