Awards to shine light on Qld horticulture
Peak industry body for Queensland horticulture, Growcom, is pleased to announce the finalists for the upcoming Queensland Horticulture Export Awards. The awards provide an opportunity to highlight the accomplishments of the industry’s leaders and for the wider industry to celebrate the best and brightest in the field.
Growcom Chair Belinda Adams says all the finalists have demonstrated their commitment to the Queensland horticulture industry and have made valuable contributions to its ongoing growth and success: “They are all deserving nominees who have been recognised by their peers and colleagues for their achievements,” she says. “Given the high calibre, it will certainly be tough to pick a winner in each category.”
Two awards will be presented at a special dinner event to be held next month: Queensland Horticulture Exporter of the Year and the New Exporter award.
The Queensland Horticulture Exporter of the Year Award will be presented to an individual or businesses that has demonstrated a strong commitment to exporting, has invested in building a sustainable export capability and actively contributes to activities that help the industry to increase its horticultural exports.
The New Exporter Award will recognise an individual grower or business who, within the last three years, has either entered the export space, increased their export volume by over 50 percent or begun exporting a new and innovative product.
