my little urban patch: week 8

Spring is in the air, which means there are now so many more options when it comes to deciding what to plant in your backyard vegie garden. It’s also the busiest time of year in my little urban patch. So if you’ve been neglecting your garden of late, now is the perfect chance to start from scratch or revive your own dormant winter beds. You’ll be glad you did. Getting back to nature and getting your hands dirty in the garden offers plenty more benefits than access to fresh, home-grown produce.

If you’re not sure what to plant, I’d recommend choosing what you know you’re going to eat rather than what you know is going to grow well. This season in my own little urban patch I’m starting with corn, Lebanese cucumber, Lebanese eggplant, rhubarb and tomatoes.
