Well and Good, Australia’s industry-leading manufacturer of gluten-free dry ingredients, has announced that it has launched a plant-based meat mix for the foodservice industry, providing a vegan-friendly alternative for Australian foodservice operators.

Suitable for pie makers, cafes, restaurant owners and businesses wanting to offer their customers vegan meat menu items, this meat alternative will shake up the traditional approach to meat-based recipes. The new plant-based meat mix can be combined with water and oil to make delicious plant-based minced meat. It’s suitable for making burger patties, sausage rolls, meatballs, meatloaf and many other traditional meat recipes.

The new meat mix will allow foodservice to offer customers more choice.

“We are excited to expand on our existing vegan range by introducing this new meat mix,” says Well and Good Managing Director, Sam Barak. “Our focus has been on developing a competitively-priced, versatile product with amazing flavour that the end-user loves. We think our product matches the brief perfectly. It fits well with our existing baked burger buns and cheese mix, which are also vegan.

“As demand for vegan products continues to grow in Australia, foodservice operators have the opportunity to capitalise on this trend. Providing meat-free options for customers is becoming a basic requirement, in much the same way gluten-free options are now expected on menus in Australia.”

For the foodservice operator, using a dry mix has its benefits. Besides the lower price point, it can be stored at ambient temperatures and made up as required, in minutes. This results in zero waste, and any leftover meat can be stored frozen until required. The Well and Good meat mix is also gluten-, nut- and dairy free.

Well and Good also makes gluten- and allergen-free baking mixes, breads and vegan meals for consumers. Check out the full range at wellandgood.com.au
