It’s Friday, which is sweet. Coincidentally, so are all these products. While most of us love sweet treats, many of us are trying to reduce the sugar in our diets, while others want to steer clear of foods made with animal products. But then there are times when nothing but the real deal is good enough to satisfy that craving. So, because we love all of you, we’ve brought the best of all worlds together, combining low-sugar, vegan and decadent delicacies that are guaranteed to please. What a great way to kick off the weekend – enjoy!

Beauty Bites: low sugar, high glamour

Known as “nature’s botox”, research has shown that collagen is not only anti-ageing and good for skin, it also optimises ligaments, muscle recovery and the gut, and even helps to heal the digestive system by repairing it.

Krumbled Foods Beauty Bites are Australia’s first and only collagen bars to combine five proven age-defying ingredients in a single daily (delicious) dose – collagen, vitamin C, vitamin E, probiotics and prebiotics – but with only 2.8g sugar.

“My biggest goal was to ensure we have a low sugar content in all Krumbled Foods products,” says Krumbled Foods’ creator and CEO, entrepreneur Keira Rumble. “Not only is eating things high in sugar bad for us, sugar can actually impair the body’s metabolic function and break down collagen and elastin in the skin.

“When there are high amounts of sugar in a collagen bar, any benefit that bar claims is nullified. Your body favours sugar over collagen or vitamin C, so they won’t get absorbed.”

Beauty Bites come in White Chocolate Raspberry, Lemon Coconut, Apple Cinnamon and new Choc Cherry. Head to Krumbled Foods website to find stockists, or buy online.

Gelatissimo launches two new vegan flavours

Gelatissimo has expanded its vegan range with two new flavours –  Choc Cookies & Cream and Strawberries & Cream Tart. Both flavours have been formulated with a combination of coconut and soy milk, providing a great creamy alternative to traditional gelato.

Choc Cookies & Cream is made up with a rich vegan chocolate biscuit gelato folded and sprinkled with chocolate biscuit pieces throughout.

The rich and creamy Strawberries and Cream Tart, inspired by baked strawberry tarts, is made up of layers of creamy vegan strawberries & cream gelato, as well as chunks of real strawberry and caramel tart crumbled throughout.

Due to popular demand, Gelatissimo has also brought back its vegan Caramel Mud Cake flavour. A creamy vegan gelato flavoured with caramelised sugar and loaded with chunks of golden-brown vegan caramel mud cake, it’s available at selected stores only.

Joining Gelatissimo’s existing vegan range, including award-winning mango sorbet and raspberry sorbet, the two new vegan flavours will be available for a limited time only across all Australian stores from today. Find your local store here for a safe and quick pick-up or have them delivered straight to your door.

Nexba brings a refreshing change

Australian naturally sugar-free drinks brand Nexba has launched its new range of probiotic sodas into Coles nationwide. Available in Cherry Cola and Pineapple flavours, each 375ml can of Nexba Probiotic Soda contains 1 billion live probiotics.

“Not all probiotics are created equal,” says Drew Bilbe, Nexba Co-founder. “In fact, the majority often don’t survive the journey from your mouth down to your gut.

“To reap the benefits of probiotics, the strain needs to be extra hardy. We spent years researching before finding the probiotic strain Bacillus Coagulans. These are encased in a hard protein-like shell so they survive the journey to the gut and can stay alive in all temperatures. At least 85 percent of the probiotics in our drinks make it to your gut alive.”

Nexba’s Naturally Sugar-Free range also includes kombucha, sparkling water, probiotic water, iced tea, soft drinks, tonic water, kefir, switchel and tepache. They’re all available at Coles, Woolworths, 7-Eleven and other retailers, as well as online at Nexba.com.
