- Dairy – cheese, milk, yoghurt
- Artisan producer
- Online store
- Pasture raised
Gippsland Jersey was founded by Sallie Jones and Steve Ronalds, who joined forces to address the twin challenges of how to produce exceptional milk sustainably while supporting farmers. Gippsland Jersey purchases raw milk off farms and distributes processed dairy products. Processing is done in-house on Jones’ family farm.
From the humble base of milk sales, product diversification has grown to include full cream milk, unhomogenised milk, light milk, buttermilk, cream, sour cream, cultured salted and unsalted butter and golden ghee.
Gippsland Jersey is both a farming operation and a manufacturer. The company has provenance, traceability, authenticity, green credentials and an appetite to fly the flag as a hero brand for Gippsland as the business grows its footprint and channels to market.
Gippsland Jersey does things differently, sourcing milk from smaller family farms. Dairy farmers receive a fair price for what they produce. By sidestepping large milk processors and value-adding premium local Jersey milk, it ensures a healthy wage for farmers and offers a better choice for consumers.
Through manufacturing in regional Victoria, Gippsland Jersey keeps the dollars local. The company also delivers random acts of kindness to the Gippsland farming community and creates social change in rural mental health by championing the emotional wellbeing of farmers who may be struggling.
Gippsland Jersey has innovated continuously to meet demand for delicious, fairly priced dairy products. It continues to innovate by creating new products, finding new markets and enlisting a growing number of dairy farmer suppliers. Customers can follow the provenance story of Gippsland Jersey via its social media channel that shares everyday dairy farming stories and awareness around rural and regional mental health.
Gippsland Jersey milk can be found across Victoria and in NSW at Coles, Woolworths, IGAs, Ritchies, Foodworks, cafes and providores. It’s milk that’s good and fair for everybody.
