Australia! What’s on your fork?

26th February 2021 | Eativity editors

A new campaign celebrating the diversity of Aussie cuisine is encouraging all Australians to tell their own unique family food story by sharing a dish that’s important to them. Stanley Rogers, an iconic Australian brand that’s brought premium cutlery and cookware to millions of Aussie homes for close to a century, has launched the “What’s On Your Fork?” campaign to celebrate our richly diverse cuisine culture. The campaign encourages Australians to share their family history through photos of meals that are an important part of their culture, highlighting the importance that food plays in providing comfort and a link between generations for millions of families across the country.

Just like company founder Stanley Rogers himself, at least one-quarter of the Australian population was born overseas or are the children of migrants. And all have brought with them a rich tapestry of recipes, cooking styles and culinary traditions.

What’s On Your Fork Australia? sets out to celebrate all Australians through one thing that always brings people together – food. It’s hoped that by embracing and celebrating our cultural diversity through storytelling and recipe sharing, it will encourage more Australians to try their hand at a new recipe or perfect an old family favourite.

Cook, snap, share, win

By sharing images of what’s on your own fork on Stanley Rogers’ Instagram page using the hashtag #WhatsOnYourForkAustralia, you’ll get the chance to win prizes. Each week for six weeks, Stanley Rogers will be giving away cutlery, cookware and knives to the best images and stories, before culminating in a grand prize of products valued at $1200.

The campaign is part of Stanley Rogers’ 90th anniversary as a home-grown success story, built off the back of an immigrant’s arrival in Australia. Born Shaul Rogowaj and raised in Poland, Rogers arrived here in 1926. Like many of his generation, he changed his name to assimilate into the community. Soon after, he put his new name to the eponymous brand.

The campaign will launch with a Stanley Rogers recipe and with several high-profile influencers sharing their own family’s story and signature dish.

Made with love

As part of What’s On Your Fork?, actor Dan Ewing and his partner, fellow actor Kat Risteska, have cooked moussaka. The dish is meaningful to Risteska. She remembers watching her Macedonian grandmother and mother cook the dish for family occasions big and small.

“Every time I make moussaka, I think of my grandmother,” she says. “And I often have my mother around as we cook together. I learnt how to cook through watching my mother in the kitchen. The recipe changes every time, but I guess that’s also what makes it so special, so meaningful. It really is cooked with love.”

To share your own family food story – whether it’s a recipe handed down over generations, a dish that marks a certain significant time or milestone or just an easy everyday go-to recipe that feeds your soul – get cooking, take a snap and share what’s on your fork.
