2nd July 2021 | Eativity editors

delicious. has revealed the full list of the 2021 delicious. Harvey Norman Produce Awards Gold Medallists, with 59 producers receiving medals across Dairy, Earth, Paddock and Sea categories along with five national finalists in the Outstanding Farmers’ Market category.

2021 state winners’ produce from Dairy, Earth, Paddock and Sea categories were tasted by a national judging panel made up of Alla Wolf-Tasker, Andrew McConnell, Peter Gilmore, Matt Moran, Josh Niland, Matt Stone, Jo Barrett, Lennox Hastie and Danielle Alvarez.

“Our spirits were high to be able to have our national judges all sitting together again,” says delicious. Editorial Director Kerrie McCallum. “We all missed being able to sit around a table last year and share opinions while tasting the country’s best produce.

“Congratulations to this year’s gold medallists. The produce they delivered following a time of unprecedented change showed the dedication to their craft and resilience of our Australian farmers, fishermen and artisans.”

For Niland, this was his first year as a delicious. produce award national judge – a position he enjoyed enormously, but also one that he takes very seriously.

“I feel so proud to be part of these awards as they are so important,” he says. “It’s vital that we shine a light on the great producers that work tirelessly across the board. I’m so excited about the produce in this country. I tasted the most face-meltingly good rock oysters and the abalone mushrooms were unlike anything I’ve ever experienced.”

The 2021 national trophy winners will be revealed in August, including Producer of the Year, Best New Product, Outstanding Region, Outstanding Farmers’ Market, the Maggie Beer Award for Outstanding Contribution to Australian Food, Unearthed Next-Gen Chef, Outstanding Native Producer, Outstanding Artisan and Unearthed Next-Gen Producer.
